Discovery Park Campus presents Who Do You Think You Are?
By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—The Discovery Park Campus Lecture Series welcomes everyone’s friend, Bonnie Briscoe, for her fun, free presentation on finding out about your noble lineage on Saturday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Discovery Park Campus. The old adage is true that, “you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family.”
“Come and discover if you have a hero or two in your bloodline,” says Discovery Park Campus director Paul Anger. “Or maybe you’re related to a villain that no one ever talked about!”
Whichever the case, if you have an interest in finding out more about your family roots, Bonnie Briscoe, local family historian says, “Maybe who you think you are is different from who you really are.”
Briscoe will share an interesting PowerPoint presentation on how to begin your own search for family history. She will discuss basic and important steps to take in finding resources and documents that will be helpful in discovering where you really came from. This lecture is for the beginner as well as the seasoned genealogist who needs a brush-up on searching techniques.
“This promises to be a fun evening,” says Anger. “And an informative handout will be provided to take home!”
As always, there will be door prizes at the lecture, tours of the Gallery and “History of Astronomy,” exciting Space Shuttle “Polaris” simulator rides and public viewing of the night sky objects through the Tinsley Telescope in Discovery Park’s Gov Aker Observatory, all free of charge and minutes away from home.
